Cricket and laughter

15 June - 28 June

These two weeks were relatively quiet. For some reason (I suspect because of the hot weather) the boys didn't have much school work to do. So we had lots of time for fun activities. Because Tigran and Marlin would soon rejoin the cricket team, we took our cricket bats to Giggs Hill Green most afternoons to practice batting and bowling. I really enjoyed this because it was the first time I'd ever played cricket. They taught me what everything was called, what the field is supposed to look like and how to play. Naturally, playing cricket was paired with lost of laughing and messing about.

When we weren't playing cricket, we went for hikes in woods nearby. One day, we came across a herd of horses. Some being very friendly came over to us and let us pet them, some others came over to us just to try and bite us...

At the weekend we celebrated Remi's Dad's birthday in the park (while social distancing of course ;) ) Afterwards, I had a go at cutting Remi's hair, which was in desperate need of a cut. This too was paired with fits of laughter but surprisingly enough, it came out quite decent.

The second week was extremely hot. Most of my days were spent out in the garden or on the beach. One day, the family and I went to West Wittering Beach for the day, where Cathy and I took lots of cool photos.

I can tell that I'm starting to count the days I have left.

Only two more weeks until I go...
