Home-schooling

Updated: Jun 3, 2020

20 April - 3 May

Home-schooling has been going well so far. The boys and I are enjoying it, and the parents are grateful. In the mornings, we tackle Maths and English. And in the afternoon we do projects and arts. The first week, thanks to the excellent weather, we had a slip and slide in the back garden. We turned this into a "project" by finding out what the soap did to make us slide much further. Their art assignment was to find out more about Henry VIII's wives and the way they lived. Naturally, this resulted in us dancing around the kitchen to the songs from 'SIX', the Musical because learning can also be fun. The next week, we gathered buckets, jars and fishing nets and headed out to the nearest pond to look for different water animals. We identified loads of different animals that live around water. We even took some little tadpoles home in one of the jars we took and put them in a tank to observe and draw them. The rest of my time is spent reading, working on Uni assignments or outside enjoying the summer-like weather. I have given up the hope that everything will be opened soon and I'm just trying to make the most of my time here for as far as possible while in lockdown.
